The FAIS Legacy Project (FLP)

The FLP is a joint venture between the Federation of African Immunological Societies (FAIS) and the International Union of Immunological Societies (IUIS). For the first time in the history of the IUIS, Africa will host its major international congress in Cape Town in 2022.   As a pre- and post- conference legacy to this historic meeting, the FLP was conceived with the aim of training 1,000 African PhDs  over the next 10 years. To achieve this goal and to transform the African science landscape, we need your help.

IUIS Executive Committee Statement on Gender at IUIS 2019

To all IUIS Members,

 

On behalf of the IUIS Executive Committee (ExCo), I would like to acknowledge the imbalance in the IUIS 2019 preliminary and partial scientific programme posted on the website in regard to both gender and geography. IUIS is committed to equity, and the current ExCo has worked extremely hard over the last two years to improve imbalances at all levels of governance, including Council and Committees.

IUIS Executive Adress / 2018 in review

To the Presidents of Immunological Societies, Presidents of Federations of Immunological Societies, Board Members, Officers.

Dear Colleagues and Friends

as I did at the end of 2017, I would like to provide our Constituency with an executive report on IUIS activities in 2018, in a continuing effort to strengthen communication and transparency in the Union.  On May 13th 2018 the IUIS Council met in Cancun, Mexico, on the occasion of the congress of the Latin American Federation of Immunological Societies (ALAI).

The Council was preceded for the second time by a meeting of Committee Chairs, which was characterized by a productive discussion. Committees are the backbone of IUIS and provide an invaluable service to our Community and to Biomedicine at large. As such, they are a priority for IUIS.

The annual Day of Immunology is just around the corner on April 29, 2019! The day is dedicated to increasing global awareness of the importance of immunology in the fight against infection, autoimmunity and cancer. The IUIS and EFIS are working together to encourage national societies to participate in the Day of Immunology and to promote the benefits of immunology research.

IVIS 2019 Abstract Submission Extended

The abstract submission deadline for IVIS 2019, the International Veterinary Immunology Symposium has been extended to 15 March! https://ivis2019.org/abstract-submission/ Participation at IVIS (13-16 August in Seattle) gives you the opportunity to explore the most recent advances in veterinary immunology with interactivity. The program includes scientific sessions around a variety of relevant and cutting-edge themes, as well as workshops and networking sessions to enhance interactions. The Scientific Advisory Committee welcomes the submission of original contributions for oral and poster presentation. Submit your abstract by 15 March! https://ivis2019.org
